Poker and Darts Come Together

On February 26, 2009, in New Products, by Michael Feiman

The other day, a local businessman stopped to talk with us about his new game.  We’re always looking for new stuff, so I was more than happy to sit down with him.  The game he brought in was called Card Parlour Darts.  As he described it, the idea is that you’re playing darts with a poker twist.

Now I love playing Texas Hold’em, so I was pretty curious to see what he had to offer.  The board is set up so that every spot represents a different card in a standard deck of cards.  There are a few different ways to play, but the idea is that you try and throw the best poker hand.

Anyway, I took one home and my buddy and I gave it a try.  There are a bunch of different games you can play, but naturally we just decided to do our own Texas Hold’em spin.  We’d draw two community cards from a deck, then each take five throws to try and make the best five card hand.

We’re both pretty awful darters, but even so, we were hitting pairs and 3 of a kind hands pretty quickly.  Two hours and many beers later, we were officially hooked.  Since my old dart board was getting torn up and this one lets you play both regular darts and the card games, this board now has a permanent home on my wall.

Naturally, we’re selling them on the the PoolDawg site, so feel free to check it out and let us know what you think.
